As a Comfort Travel Driver, you will play a vital role in providing safe, compassionate, and reliable transportation for individuals requiring wheelchair and stretcher services. Our goal is to ensure each passenger reaches their destination comfortably and with dignity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transport clients to and from medical appointments, dialysis centers, hospitals, and other healthcare facilities using wheelchair- and stretcher-accessible vehicles.

  • Provide door-through-door service—escorting clients inside facilities such as rehabilitation centers, nursing homes, hospice care, and private residences. This role involves extensive walking throughout the day.

  • Assist with loading, unloading, and securing patients in wheelchairs or stretchers, ensuring their safety throughout the trip. Clients may weigh 200 lbs. or more, requiring proper lifting and transfer techniques.

  • Properly secure wheelchairs and stretchers in the vehicle, including fastening all necessary safety straps. This task may require bending, lifting, and stretching to ensure a secure and comfortable ride.

  • Interacting with our dispatch software on your mobile device for navigation, capturing signatures and updating trip status.

  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the vehicle and equipment, report any maintenance issues, and ensure the vehicle is fueled and in good working condition.

Work Schedule & Requirements:

  • Full-time drivers work Mondays - Fridays with shifts typically lasting anywhere from 4 to 12 hours based on trip demand.

  • Weekend availability required—drivers may be required to work on Sundays, along with select holidays as needed.

  • Shift start and end times vary daily, depending on the schedule and trip volume.

Uniform Policy:

All drivers are required to wear the Comfort Travel uniform at all times:

Company polo shirt

Black, blue, brown or gray slacks

Black or brown work shoes and black or brown belt

Can you get clients up and down staircases?

Yes, we can safely assist clients up and down staircases using a specialized glide chair. Our trained staff ensures a secure and comfortable experience, especially in locations without elevator access.

Do you wait for clients at their appointments?

In certain situations, particularly for stretcher transportation, we do offer waiting services. Typically, we work with clients to estimate the appointment duration and schedule a prompt return pickup. Our goal is to provide flexibility while minimizing wait times.

Do you help a client to check in?

Our service includes assisting clients to the receptionist or check-in area. We inquire to make sure they are at the correct location before we leave. We do not assist with filling out paperwork, a family member or an aide needs to be present if the patient is not competent to complete his or her own paperwork.

Can a caregiver or family member travel with the client?

Yes, they can accompany the client at no additional cost. We believe in providing peace of mind, and having a loved one or caregiver present during the trip can make all the difference. Our vehicles are designed to comfortably accommodate additional passengers.
